Hello everybody,
I am working on a staff availability spreadsheet that records vacation, overtime and sickness. The entries are summarised by a number of charts that display aspects like our most popular vacation months, employee vacation entitlement and how many days they have left. In addition, their sickness records are also displayed here. But I’d like to be able to determine how many ‘one day’ sicknesses each employee has had.
The spreadsheet is formatted much like a calendar, and I am using an ‘S’ to represent a days sickness. So, let’s say that cell A1, A2 and A3 represent the first three days of the month, and this particular employee was sick on the second day only.
I am already counting the number of times that an ‘S’ is present for each employee, but how can I determine and count the number of times the letter ‘S’ appears when the cells on either side are blank?
Thanks very much, Kenny.
