I have this type of number in my sheet i want to remove the "*" from numbers and i want only numbers should appear in my sheet can any one help me in this is very urgent i want only how to remove the * from the both ends of the numbers i have a huge set numbers like this
can any one help me in this

Select the column and go Edit>Replace and use Find What: ~* and Replace: {leavel blank}

perhaps, this would work:

=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"*","")

Edit: Assuming that the range starts from A1 copy and paste the formula in B1 (copied down).

not really, you'd need to force to value

=0+SUBSTITUTE(A1,"*","")

Richard's solution is still better and worked for me also using supplied data.
