I have a dropdown that is populated by a list on a different sheet. I want a dialog box to pop up requesting input from the user if a certain item in the dropdown is selected. Does anyone have coding for something like this?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

When you say dropdown I assume you mean dataValidating list
So, tell me in what cell will you have this dataValidation list Like say Range("B1")
Or maybe say any cell in column B
And if you select "Alpha" What do you want the message to say?

Yes..datavalidate and correct, any cell in column B. It can be a generic message.

Thank you for the help!

dialog box to pop up

What is a Dialog Box?

Excel has an Input Box That Can Popup or a Message Box
Not sure what a Dialog Box is.

And I'm not sure you're telling me everything you need.
If A Message Box pops up that say "Hello"

What is that doing for you?
There must be more here that you're not mentioning
