Hi

All of a sudden, when I open excel and book1 appears, the calcs are off - I have to put them back to auto via options-calcs.

If I open a spreadsheet that was saved with calcs on it opens fine with them on.

Any ideas why this would have happened?

Thanks

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Whether you consider it to be a bug or a feature, if you open a second or subsequent workbook the calculation mode of those workbooks is determined by the calculation mode of the first workbook opened.
If you have saved a template named Book.xlt (or Sheet.xlt) in the XLStart folder that may be the cause of your problem. If you don't find it in that folder, saving a template with that name and in that folder (and with calculation set to automatic) may solve your problem.
For Excel 2003 the folder is
C:\Documents and Settings\Your name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart

Thanks - to fix it I copied the above Excel folder from another user setup on my PC (its a work PC) and copied and overwrote the same folder in my settings.

Fixed it!
