Using Excel in Office 2000, I am trying to open a Lotus 123 file (.wk1 is the extention). I select *.wk? in the "file type" window and select the file I want to open. I then get the error "cannot open Lotus 123 file.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
I would suggest if version 123 Year 97 or above, save as Xls.. and open then..

Or save each sheet ir correct sheet as CSV and import into excel and re build..

These ideas should work OK long time sine I used 123 suite 97.

Thanks for the reply. So far I have figured out that the original file was actually a .123 extension that was renamed before being sent to us. Going to bring smart suite from home and try to export it as either a .wk4 or .xls. Although I have been told that exporting as an .xls can be a bit messy. I will report the results.
