I am using Excel 2003 templates to create customer orders and quotes. I find that very often, after opening the new workbook from the template, I also need to have the supporting files open at the same time.
I would like to set these files up in a workspace (.xlw), so that I can open all the required files at one time, but I cannot find a way to open the template as a new workbook. If I include the .xlt in the workspace, it opens the template for editing. If I save an open workbook, the template does not fire properly. I tried setting up a Document Workspace on our network, but Sharepoint is not installed.
So my question is: is it possible to save the template in a workspace so that it opens as a new workbook? Or is there another way to open multiple files at the same time?
