Hi

I am working in excel a lot and use multiple files at the same time. I would like excel to open each worksheet in its own excel instance and not combine them. Right now I cannot place them next to each other.

Anyone who has an idea?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried the Ignore other Applications too option and exited Excel before trying it. The result was that .... yes, new instances of Excel opened up but each time it stated that it could not find the file that I was trying to open :)

I'll switch it back ..... its a nice to have rather than a necessity anyway :)

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Try this :

Windows explorer
menu Extra \ Map options \ file types
select XLS
hit button Advanced
uncheck "Open in the same window"

ps : I work with a dutch version of windows, so I can't give the exact text of the menu items...

Nice one.

UK version.
Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types > Select XLS > Advanced > Remove tick from Browse in same window
