I can make validation lists equal to a "fixed" source list, BUT is there a way to keep adding items to a list without having to rename that source list [and then reset the data validation to the new name of the source list]?

Specifically, I have a spreadsheet [with a validation list] that allows you to choose an employee from a source list. Employees come and go and I am constantly updating the source list.

To take it one step further, the original updated employee list is actually kept in another excel file. So, ultimately, is there a way to reference a constantly updated list in one file as a source list for an in-cell drop down in another file?
