overwrite if it exists??

This works fine.

ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs FileName:= _
"\\MYMACHINE\Drive\DIR\DIR\" & FileName & ".xls", FileFormat:=xlNormal, _
Password:="", WriteResPassword:="", ReadOnlyRecommended:=False, _
CreateBackup:=False

Now what do I add to it to OVERWRITE the existing file WITHOUT prompting me to do so? Something = TRUE but what is Something AND where does Something go?

Try sandwiching your code in between the lines

Application.DisplayAlerts = False

'your code goes here

Application.DisplayAlerts = True
