Hello

I have worksheet that has many formula’s in it when my macro is running it is taking a long time due to the recalculation, can anybody advise if I can stop excel calculating a range while leaving the first range on automatic calculation.

Eg Cells named primary_calc – I want these to be calculated all the time (automatic calculation) while the ranage called secondary_calc I want the calculation in this area to be completed only when I add code (ie at the end).

Alternatively can I move the fomula’s in the seconday_calc into a separate sheet and stop the sheet from being calculated when the inputs change, I do not really want to move all the secondary calc formula’s into a new workbook.

Thanks in advance

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
You could write a very basic macro to calculate certain cells or ranges, e.g.

Range("A6:A10").Calculate

Yes but the first range needs to be continuously recalculated, I would have to insert that code nearly every other line.

Then the only alternative is to move one set of formulae to a new sheet, and set that sheet to auto/manual at the start of your macro.
