I thought I'd ask this first rather than make a fool of myself at work !!

I've changed the password on an excel file and can't recall what I changed it too .... (I know, I know!) can if I used the open previous version option in the properties section of the right click menu - would it undo my change ? If not would my sysadmin be able to restore the old version from a restore ?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
If you did a SaveAs from the previous version the old version would have the old password.
Otherwise, it's the new password. Another option is if the Company does backup, get them to recover a version of yesterdays workbook.
The are many ways to get by the password.....but you won't get them from here, I'm afraid. It's against Forum Rules.

Thank you. Believe me I've no desire to get into cracking etc... This file isn't life or death, it's just annoying :)
