Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
If you open it in Excel 2013, are they locked again?

Excel "security" is not at all secure, but what you describe shouldn't have happened unless something told it to remove the protection.

Is there any code in your workbook? Especially in the Workbook module?

Hi,

Thnx for such a speedy reply.

Now, when i opened the same workbook again in 2013, it gets unprotected without password in 2013 also!!!

Means all passwords are removed once i open this password protected sheets in 2007?

This is really unseure...

Any solution???

Truly secure solutions? No

Excel security is basically mis-named, as it's not secure at all.

Is there any code in your workbook module that might be unprotecting sheets upon the opening event of the workbook?

No, there is no such code...

But I just tried one workaround...

Instead of protecting the sheet from the Excel Menu, I this time protected it form workwook vba code...

So everytime the file opens it protects it with password..

Then I opened this file in office 2007 & it worked!!!

Now, I looking as to how to write all the options of Protecting in vba becoz of wish to allow certain things...

Thx for your precious time...

Pl. see if something can be done normally
