I want to password protect a page, so no one can enter information into the cells accidentally. However I want them to still have the ability to trace precedent each cell, ie where the information has come from.

When you password protect a sheet, it seems you can not trace back and says you need to unprotect the sheet.

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).

Unfortunately I could not find a way at least in 2007, that would allow you to do this, while the sheet is protected.

You may be able to do something through VBA code, but I have never coded for tracing precedents.

Sorry probably not the answer you were looking for.
