Hi all,

Is there a way to have an excel document password protected (to open) but set it so if I'm the one opening it, it doesnt ask for the password?
So basically, I can access it but everyone else needs to use the password?

Cheers

Chris

Or better than the OS variable USERNAME - not difficult to bypass too - is to get this user name at the network level, more secure …
And can be combined with the computer name !

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.

I agree, but we don't know the level of security required OR needed.

Yes indeed … But once done under VBA, the level is pretty close to zero !

Correct, but A LOT of Excel users wouldn't know OR care to go looking.....@Chris Foster may have those users, rather than the ones that care to be inquisitve / adventurous
