In my work I receive pdf documents that I read and summarize in a comment in a spreadsheet (that contains other data). It would make my job a whole lot easier if I could copy and paste the text into the comment. However, the pdf document won't allow me to copy text, just an image of the text. Moreover, the copied image will not paste into the comment. Does anyone have a workaround for this. Thanks

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
If you can save the copied picture to disk (maybe via Paint) you can use it as a fill effect in your comment (Format Comment, Colors and Lines tab, Color, Fill Effects, Picture tab, Select picture).

Thank you, I thought you had the answer to my dilemma until I discovered by verision of Excel (2007) does not have a colors and lines tab in the format comment. The only tab visible is "Font".

To insert the pdf you will need to right click on the EDGE of the comment box not IN it.
This will then give you more formatting options as Andrew as suggested.

Thank you what would have been a solution to my problem. However, my version of Excel (2007) does not have tabs for Colors and Lines, Color, Fill Effects and Picture tab. The only tab visible is Fonts.

Thank you, that was it, bottom right formatting options. And thank you Mr. Poulsom. Im still having a hard time getting the pdf file in there but a tif, bit, and jpeg will work. I'll simply have to either convert the pdf to one of those formats or change the way of doing business and have the files sent to me in one of those formats.
