If I have numbers 1-20 listed out. then delete number/row 10. so now I have 1-9 then 11-20 - no space.
How do I copy and paste so that my numbers will now be 1-19?

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Select the cell with 9 in it.
On the little black square bottom right of that cell, right-click and drag down to cell with 20. Release mouse and select fill series.

Not that I'm aware of, however you might use VBA to do it.
Why do you need this type of functionality?

what about hide blank row, then fill down?

This is the way the report is structured and it's not mine to manipulate. I am trying to keep the numbers in order

Perhaps instead of typing the numbers in the cell, use a formula

in A1
=ROW()
Fill down to A20

Now it will update when you delete a row.

I did think of that, but there is spacing between the groups of numbers. That is why I was hoping to copy say 1-6, have excel recgonize the sequence, then select the cells needs and keep the sequence progressing
