Paste values over formula in selected range

I'm trying to write the values of the formula in column D over a selected range, using the following, it works fine for the formula but I get an error (compile error - expected end of statement) on the last line, paste values.

Where have I've gone wrong? :confused:

try spliiting into two lines of code

Range("D4").Copy
Range("D5:D" & Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row).PasteSpecial xlPasteValues

or not using copy/paste:
Range("D5:D" & Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row).value = range("D4").value

Thanks so much for your help - I've tried this and it works fine - just one problem the values pasted with paste special are incorrect as they're all copies of D4 - I've just realised that I've set this up to copy the first value, D4 (these are Y/N answers referenced in another workbook).

As I'm filling down a variable range in column D, (to the last row containing data in column A) I think I need to modify the last part of the code before the paste special so that the entire (variable) range populated with the formuls is copied before doing the paste special - hope this makes sense!
