After i hit cntrl v to paste informtaion into a cell, there is a small popup button with the picture of a clipboard that comes appears at the bottom right hand corner of the cell. How do I prevent this from coming up?

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
I use msexcel 2000. It must be something in the newer version?

Hope someone else may help.

sounds like the copy/paste clipboard

If you ignore it three times, it should go away.

Here's what I got from the help file:
If you close the Clipboard toolbar three times consecutively without clicking the Paste All button or any of the collected items on the toolbar, the toolbar will no longer appear automatically. To show it again, point to Toolbars on the View menu, and then click Clipboard. You can also show it again by copying an item two times consecutively.

that is my problem. I am copying the same information in different parts of a spreadsheet that aggaravating little symbol comes up and hinders my view of the next column. I guess I will just open another column temporarily so it won't get in my way.

Thanks,
Michael
