Pasting graphs from Excel to Powerpoint

Hi
I am trying to paste an Excel graph into a powerpoint presentation using paste special. However when I try and select:

Edit>Paste Special>Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object

other text boxes and graphs that are already on that slide are resized and moved for no appaprent reason.

Any ideas what is causing this and what the solution is?
