I have a file called .,... Greedy Pig Game - Copy - Copy

Each time I try to open it, I get the following error messages ..

path file error.JPG

on pressing 'OK', I get the following error message ..

runtime error.JPG

Whether I press either of the options ... 'End' or 'Debug' ... I get the hourglass and excel hangs there (not responding) for hours, if I let it.

It contains a single Userform, and was opening and closing perfectly fine until I added a UserForm open event, that opened the userform on entering the file.

This is what I used ... I entered it into the 'ThisWorkbook' section of the VBA editor

VBA Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()

UserForm1.Show

End Sub

Since adding this, it's been failing to open, due to the above-mentioned error messages and the permanent hang-time.

I can't even get back in to remove the Userform1.show event to see if that was the cause.

Here is an image of my VBA Project ..

It's a very simple userform, containing just 2 command buttons, and a text box.

Can anyone tell me what I can do from here ?

Is there any other information I can provide you to help determine my next move ?

Kind regards,

Chris

Open the file in safe mode, to prevent macros from running.

I've never opened a file in safe mode before, so i googled it and it suggests I hold ctrl and double click the file.

I've tried that, and a few other combinations, but none have opened the file in safe mode.

Is there something else I should be doing ?

Kind regards,

Chris

You need to close Excel, then press Ctrl & double click the Excel icon, not a file. Keep the CTrl pressed until a message box appears.
