I work for a municipality that is starting to do our payroll estimates for next year. I would like to automate a number of functions that I do manually every time we get another payroll run to review. I'm going to attach a small file which contains a few things I try to fix first. If this works out there are a few more things we do to the file as we review and conduct "what-if" work. The first thing I do is remove unwanted data. There are unwanted rows in some records (data is in the boxes I added) and unwanted data on the left side for some records. This comes from page breaks in the program where the data lives. I have filled the cells with yellow. As I see it the key pointers are the asterisks in the right column. There are 2 at the end of the record and one near the top, with two in between.
The first thing I need is a reminder of how to attach the excel file.
