WOW, What a great site!!!

I am trying to create a excel sheet for my wife to keep her e-bay sales records. Our goal is to track profit ratios on certain items. can someone help me with a formula the help us with this.

One colum would be for the purchaes price of a item and another for the sales price, and a third colun for the profit ratio.

For instance: She buys an item at the store for $10 and sells it on e-bay for $20 = 100% profit.

Thanks in advance,

Mule

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Column A would be Cost
Column B would be Price
Column C would be profit margin - the formla would be =(b1-a1)/a1

you can then format the cells for percentages - otherwise it would just show a 1 and not 100%.

Thanks Box,

Seems to work, except I get a negative number in the profit margin column. No big deal, but can I fix that?

I think you might have the cost and price columns mixed up.... if the price is greater than the cost.... the profit margin would be positive.
