Percentages in PivotTables

Hi - Need help generating percentages for a PivotTable:

In column one, I have a count for each item, with the grand total at the bottom (Grand Total row generated by PivotTable)

I want to create a second column that divides each item count by the Grand Total to get the percent of the whole number.

I'd like to do this within the Pivot so that when I change the Page By feature, everything updates automatically (rather than creating the formulas outside of the Pivot, and having to copy percentage formulas down if the number of items increases)

thanks!!

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
Hi V_B Crazy,

Have a look at the "calculated fields" option within
your pivot.
It enables you to perform various tasks using the
data extracted into your table.

Actually, I already did that, and when I tried to refernce the Grand Total, Excel gives me an error message saying it doesn't accept References, Names or Arrays in formulas for calculated fields

any other ideas?

percent of column

you probably already figured it out but...
in wizard, layout, select the count field again and then double click on it. select options change the show data as to % of column. hope that works for you.

Actually, I didn't - I had to find a workaround on my own.

But, this works MUCH better!! Thanks a lot!
