I am using the following "IF" statement:

=IF(AND(TrackingYear=2012,MATCH(TrackingProduct,ProductList,0)>MATCH(Q15,ProductList,0)),"Best Quarter (Pre.)","Runner Up"))

I keep entering the above without a double closing parenthesis but Excel keeps adding another one, it seems to me to be a very basic issue but for some reason I cant put my finger on it.

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Works with a single closing bracket for me. Did you copy/paste that formula in your post above from your formula bar in Excel, or type it manually?

In that case it is perplexing since there are (apart from inside the "") four opening ( and five closing )

My Excel 2010 removes the final bracket (as I would expect). What version of excel are you using?

turns out like it usually does in these cases that it was a simple typo in excel and I must have corrected it when I pasted it in the post.

Thank you all for your help.
