Personal Owings template?

I live in a household where I get income and expenses regularly.

i.e. I may buy the groceries this week and will need to be split amongst 3-4 other people... and at times, one of my housemates may pay me a small sum of money in advanced first, etc.

Question:
What would you recommend for me to use - Excel / Access - to keep track of this? If so, any templates anyone here is already using that I may have a look at?

Ideally, i would like to be able to print off a report each month with details for THAT month so I know how much I owe each person (or how much i'm being owed by each person).

THanks!

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
I've looked through the available templates and still can't find one that really suits my needs.

I guess i COULD try working something out with Access but i'd rather use something someone has started rather than me building one from scratch. I'm a newbie with MS Access and it'll take me a LONG time.

Excel probably has enough functionality for what you want. Access may be overkill
