pick only one occurence of items that appear multiple times

I have a column containing values (they are charge codes). I would like to have a way to evaluate that column and pick only one occurence of the values that appear more than once. E.g. there are 20 values, but there are really only five unique codes. Is there a formula that will pick out those five codes and list them? Or is there some other way to go about this?

The values are numbers.

I looked at autofilter, but I'm not sure how it would apply.

I don't want to remove the duplicates from the original list. I want to create a second list in another location that contains only the unique values.

Forgive me for being confusing and unclear about this whole thing. (I am confused and stumped . . .)

What version of Excel are you using?

You can use the advanced filter to extract the unique items. Only takes a few mouse clicks!

You could also use my Duplicate Master addin that will extract the true uniques to a new sheet, http://www.experts-exchange.com/A_2123.html

While Richard's formulae approach will normally be more easily implementable and hence the appropriate method, the addin may be helpful for more complicated data arranagements, ie
- handling multi column (even multi sheet) ranges
- ignoring case sensitivity, whitespace characters

Ok, I don't have Excel 2010 but I do have Excel 2007 and they should be pretty much the same...

Let's assume your data is in the range A1:A10.
A1 being the column header. A column header is required for this operation.
Select the entire range A1:A10
Goto the Data Tab>Advanced Filter
Select: Copy to another location
Copy to: enter the cell address to where you want the data copied
Select: Unique records only
Ok out

Note that if you want the data extracted to another sheet then you must start the procedure from that other sheet.
