Pictures In Worksheet Being Renamed When Workbook Is Opened.

I have a worksheet for which I placed 3 pictures. Using the name box, I renamed these pictures as hidden1, hiddden2 and hidden3. When I click on the shape, the proper name is revealed.
I save the workbook. When I open the workbook the pictures are there, but they have lost their names. They are given names of "picture #" wher # seems like some random number.

Any thought as to why the pictures are being renamed?
