Pivot Chart - formatting dates & missing tick marks

Two questions on a pivot chart:

(a) How can I get x-axis dates to format as "Jul-06" instead of "31/07/2006"? I have formatted the dates in the associated pivot table, but this makes no difference (as it does when you format, say, dollars). and

(b) Can you force "missing" tick marks? If I have data for a particular combination for July and September, but not August, I would like my pivot chart to have zero values automatically put in against the "missing" month. At the moment, it just includes July & September in the chart. I actually have three years worth of data, and I'm thinking it could be misleading to users if a couple of months are missing.

Thanks all,

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
