Pivot Chart X-Axis Labels

I apologize if I missed this in a thread elsewhere.

I have a pivot chart (line style with markers) in which the X-Axis is grouped by year, month, and day. On the axis, the day is closest to the chart area and the year is furthest to the bottom. I am able to get the pivot chart to accurately reflect the data on the plot, but when I pull large data ranges (more than one year of data), some of the labels on the x-axis are not shown. For instance, in the "month" grouping, the label for january and february are there, but there are then blanks until the label for august is shown.

I'm puzzled as to why this is happening...any thoughts?
