Hello

Please can someone help???

I am trying to add a percentage into a current pivot table which will show the value by field as a percentage of the grand total. So for example, supplier Jen in yellow will show a percentage of 50%. We cannot have a fixed column outside of the pivot as we want to be able to filter on other data within the pivot and the percentage still be live.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
If you want to show both the values 3000, 1000 & 2000 AND the %, drag the value into the data field a 2nd time. Value Field Setting for the 2nd occurence you'd want to use Show Values As & select "% of column" from drop down box

Using Excel 2007 if you've already placed the 2nd occurence in pivot table, in pivot table itself right click the heading & you should see "Value Field Settings", when you select it the default display is "Summarize by" & there is another "tab" that is "Show Fields As"

you will have the exact same box in excel 2003, it's just been so long since I used excel 2003 that I can't remember the easiest way to get there! if you right click somewhere in the data section of pivot table I think you'll get a list of options, one of which is the pivot table wizard. If you select the wizard use "back" to get you to the drag & drop screen. Once there you should be able to click, double click or right click the 2nd occurence (in data field) & get the box I described earlier.
