Attempting to add a rank number. Following instruction on ppg's 365 in Pivot Table Number Crunching. When I go to "show values as..." and pick highest to lowest I get a pop box "show values as (count of first two) then base field with the number "one: in the box?? The values that come back (numbers) make no sense. What am I doing wrong?

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Do you have more than one row field ? The ranking can get a bit lost when you have multiple row fields. That would not account for only seeing a Base Field of 1 though.

Can you provide an image of your pivot and also of your base field drop down and where you are in the pivot table when you go "show values as..." ?

Below sample of 1 row field on the left and 2 on the right.
