Because I constantly update data in Columns A thru D, I included
Sheet1!$A:$C in the Range field of mt pivot table.

Every thing updates when I refresh the pivot table now.

EXCEPT -- I have in the row and the column I have this entry called a blank
Code:
Count of Score	State
Name	MA	NY	WA	(blank)	Grand Total
Jeff
Jim
John
Joy
(blank)
Grand Total

(The row 1 entry for each column in the original data sheet is a name..
So in this example... Name , State, Score)

I want to remove this (blank) entry from both places..
Any suggestions?

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Hi Buffalo,

Sounds like you're still working on the same pivot table you referenced in your other post. I know of no way to automatically get Excel to ignore the blanks if you set the entire column as the source. Again, in the other post I mentioned previously there are suggestions on how to create a dynamically resizing data range which would solve your problem.

Otherwise, if you're using XL2002, you can simply click on the dropdown list, scroll down to the checkbox for (blanks) and uncheck it.
