pivot table borders

i formated my report to the pre formatted reports that excel offers. ive been playing around and am trying to but lines betwwen my data so i select the data and go to borders and it works but when i update the table the old borders show up
help?

Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Right click on your table, select "table options", and uncheck "autoformat table".
