All,

I just joined this forum so sorry if this is not posted in the right place. First of all while i just joined I've used this form for years to find answers to questions in excel so i'd like to give you an overdue thank you. I have finally come across a problem that I can not solve by just searching mrexcel.com or google.com. I'm tryng to create a calculated field that calculates the contribution to change of a single row, which means i need the calculated field to use the grand total for the calculation.

I can get around this by hardcoding in the grand total from that column but that is clearly not very dynamic. I don't know how to upload / data to this so i'll try to explain it best i can below:

Column 1: 2016 sales by brand
Column 2: 2015 sales by brand

Calculated field: Contribution to the 2016 growth associated with each brand to the total growth in 2016

Formula =(2016 sales - 2015 sales for Brand A)/GRAND TOTAL of 2015 Sales

I have hardcoded in the 2015 sales figure for now but would really like to figure out how i can make the calculated field use the grand total of 2015 sales rather than the "row" total of 2015 sales

Thank you!
