Pivot table counting blanks problem

I have a table: example,

This is a very simplified version of my table. I got a Pivot table to find out the "Minimum" for each person for each week. So, I expected this:

The problem is Pivot doesn't show "no data" when there's a blank but instead it shows a "0". This complicates things because there are real "0" in the data so I don't know which is a blank and which is an actually 0.

Is there anyway to stop Pivot from displaying "0" for blanks?

I think i understand your problem now. Do you have formulas in your data that are returning "" as results for some cells?

You might understand that some helpers may become disgruntled if they put time into developing a solution here only to find later that a solution had already been achieved elsewhere. They may then be less likely to help you next time.

If you do cross-post in the future but also provide a link, then there shouldn’t be a problem.

Hello Marcelo thanks for replying. In the source data, the "blank cells" were initially "" for results, then I tried changing it to "blank", but the same problem (Pivot assuming it to be 0) still occurs. Please let me know if you anyone have anymore ideas! Thanks!

A possible workaround is to copy your data and paste values only and use the copied data (only values) to build your PVT.

Maybe you can automate the process using the Worksheet_Change event, so every data change, a new copy is automatically generated.

Well... not a very good solution (increases the size of your workbook) but it can work.

Ok this is kinda weird. I copied the source data table and pasted into a new sheet as "values", so all the blank cells are really blank and not just "". However, the new Pivot table still counts it as 0 when I use the MINIMUM function! Please advise! Thanks.

It worked perfect for me. I dont know why it didn't for you...Really weird!

A silly question: did you change the source-data of the original PVT? (sorry for asking...)
