Hi, Relatively new to Pivot tables... I am trying to develop a pt report based on an exported datasheet from Access. The Date field in the database has been formatted to short date (9/26/2016). When I put the pt to work, all the dates show up on the column headers properly, but I cannot seem to group them on a timeline (by month/year). I get the error message that it doesn't have a field formatted as date - even though they are. Thanks for your help!

The goal is to see the data by MM/YY

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Hi, care to share your solution so others may benefit.
Simply put, Excel doesn't like date fields that are exported from other sources, so I had to use Text to Column. Which still has bugs that I can't get around so I'll have to rework my goal.
