Hello,

I have several files that I've downloaded in Dbase IV format. They are larger than 65,536 lines so I would like to pivot them directly from the Dbase IV format. How do I go about doing this?

I went into external source and clicked on dbase, but for some reason my .dbf file didn't appear in the folder where I put it.

TIA

Excel Facts

Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
I figured out how to get it to work. however, I found a problem I think. The original Dbase IV file is like 100,000 lines. When I pivot the information from the DBF file it seems like its only referencing the first 65,536 lines. I only know this because in the pivot table it said the total of one of the categories was 136,000 and then when I opened the .DBF file in excel (and it only showed 65,536 lines) I summed the same category and got the same value. if the pivot table was referencing the whole 100,000 lines then the total should have summed to more than the total of the same category of just the 65,536 lines.

Any ideas?
