I have a pivot table with dates across columns, grouped by year and month, and I use a filter from the drop-down to a specific range, eg "before or equal to 31/12/2020". But IMO it is too easy to miss that a filter is in effect, although if it will show if I hover over the tiny filter arrow.

Is there a way to enter the filter date (31/12/2020) into a cell and have that picked up by the pivot table filter; or the opposite and have a cell pick up the filter date?
