i have a table of my main data, but i am wanting to be able to put it into a pivot table and filter it. the first picture below is a snippet of my first table. the 2nd picture is the pivot table and how it sorts it. notice i am sorting by product line, but when i filter "f,r,s" in the pivot table it returns the line items for "angles." it does the same thing when i filter by other product lines, it returns data for other product lines. a side note is that the main data table is all formulas, but i have tried to copy and paste as values, refreshed the pivot table and it still returned the same wrong data. any idea? thanks.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
