Hi,

I have created a salaries pivot table that shows the salary by employee by period and have cost centre as a report filter. It works great but when I want to add the employee number to the row labels but when I do this the employee number and name don't appear side by side and I get the salary figures in twice for each employee. Is there a way I can change this?

Thanks

Mike

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Typically I'd tell you to create a composite column that is a concatenation of ee name & #. That's usually the cleanest way. But if that doesn't work for you then, on the PivotTable Tools contextual tab set, on the Design tab, try clicking the Subtotals button and picking Do Not Show SubTotals. And then on the Report Layout button try the Tabular Layout option. That will likely fix the issue you asked about. However it might introduce other issues with how your data is being summarized.
