Pivot table not filtering with a calculation added

Hello everyone,

I have a pivot table with several categories down the left side and months across the top. I have added a calculated item to add several of the categories together,but not all. However, now the date filter does not allow me to filter down to a specific period. It wants to so all the months. Is there a setting somewhere to fix this ?
