Hey,

Column N (CompDate) in sheet 'Data' is formatted as date and when you look at the filter, cells are chronologically sorted and grouped by Years-Months-Days

In sheet 'Pivot' when you look at CompDate filter, it's not grouped and only shows individual dates

Any advise why and how can I get the Pivot filter grouped as well?

Link to the spreadsheet

Thanks

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Column filters on a pivot will group dates but not the main filter. A pivot filter can only show exactly what is in the source list, if you need the dates to be grouped in the filter then you would need to add another column to the data source and use a formula to create the necessary groups.

Thanks for the info. I guess I solved it by adding the CompDate field as a Timeline and it acts exactly like a Pivot Filter. It's not as elegant but it works.
