Pivot table or conditional formatting query

I have an excel spread sheet that is tracking training completed by staff members and expiry dates. It is a large document with circa 50 columns for all the training courses and 350 lines for all the staff members.

I have added in conditional formatting to show expired dates or expiry dates within the next 30 days.

As it is so large a spread sheet though it is hard to pick out, at glance which ones are coloured red and amber. Are you able to search for those that have met the criteria for expired or within 30 days?
Alternatively I have tried a pivot table but because there is some blank cells (where either training is not required by that individual or not yet completed) , I can't get this to work.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
