So I have a pivot table pulling from data that for ease of explanation works like this.

Date Incidence Rate
1/1/08 .14
1/2/08 .1698
1/3/08 .135
ETC. ETC.

So I want to have a calculated field in a PIVOT table that looks at the previous incidence rate and determines how much change occurred. So from 1/1/08 to 1/2/08 there was a .0298 change.

I want this to work if I group the data by Months or Quarters etc. as well.

Thanks
Chris

I believe this would have to be outside of the pivot table. You could set up a summary table that is fed by your pivot table using the getpivotdata function. Then you can perform your subtraction, quarter groupings, etc.

Also, from 1-1 to 1-2 was a 21.29% increase. (new-old)/old
