Pivot Table rows not sorting correctly on data values...

I know about the custom-list option that oftent throws people. I have a pivot of ~ 4k rows and a field that shows a fields value as "Difference from" (202304 vs 202301). I want to sort from smallest to largest but it's not working. It's not sorting by the row levels (acct #) either. Ideas?

Hi Tripp
My first thought was it looks like it's sorting by the acct_ field but it's not quite, as you've shown. In the sort options you can specify "More Sort options", in here you can specify a value field to sort by. You may be able to get your desired result with this. You'll need to apply the sort for each of the data columns in the pivot. By default it sorts left most column then the next etc.

Thx. I think I'm doing everything correctly (well of course I do else I wouldn't be posting :)). I suspect there's some goofy interaction between the sort function and mechanism that does the "difference from" display of values (setting for that also shown). I even tried moving the column for 202304 to be firstmost and no change in the garbled sort.

yeah looks like what I meant. Pivot sorting can be a bit odd. sorry don't have further suggestions, keep fiddling. if it gets too frustrating, copy the pivot to another spot as data and sort it manually....
