Hi,

I have a pivot table summing Department and Position hours and cost:
Row Labels1/6/2020 - 1/12/20201/13/2020 - 1/19/20201/6/2020 - 1/12/2020
115
72.98
70.70
$1,250.88
1104
72.98
70.70
$1,250.88
130
289.58
298.58
$4,548.22
1301
120.65
127.10
$2,008.82
1304
37.50
38.50
$699.38
1306
131.43
132.98
$1,840.02

When I go to grab the data for another worksheet, I'm summarizing for department and position separately using vlookup to pull from the pivot table:

Total HoursTotal Cost
Departments
9,095.74
$164,541.06
Positions
9,161.91
$165,557.74

Why would these grand totals be different?

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
vlookup only returns the first match, if the reference is replicated it will be dropped from the result and you will get a lower value
