First of all, thanks again to PaddyD for pointing me in the right direction. Pivot tables rule! Ok, now on to my new question.

Is there away to forego the constant totaling if you have 2 row field items on the category axis? The totals I get here are meaningless to me; I only need the grand total on the far right (which is already there).

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Well, it seems I seriously underestimated the Excel help files. Right after I posted this message, I searched for "pivot table totals" and found my answer in about a minute! Wow...

I am a new person also to this message board and have found that using the search on this board and using the help menues finds many of the answers to most basic questions....I find in looking for a while for the answer myself usually keeps the answer more readily the next time i need it.

I find this board has some pretty savy, talanted, and patient masters and monitors.Good luck...
