I have a pivot table that when I try to refresh, I receive the following error "There are too many records to complete this operation"

Yet I am able to create a new pivot table off this same data source.

any ideas?

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
What happens if you first reduce the number of "displayed" records by de-selecting items in the Page, Row, or Column Fields. Then do a refresh. I'm guessing maybe the number of "displayed" records has a limit.

Also, what version of Excel do you have?

I have 2007 version.

I have reduced the number of displayed records to no effect. I have even deleted rows from the source data, basically replacing old data with new and still i receive the error.

Currently i have 17 column labels. If i add one more i receive the error.

However, if i add new data with one of the previous column labels, no error and the table refreshes.

I am very confused.
