Pivot Table

I have database in File A and want to create a pivot table in file B based on the database in File A. both the files are in the same folder. I tried importing the database but it gives me error saying the file doesnot have database that is like a table..any guesses where I am wrong?

Also, please help me on how to create a pivot table in File B based on database in File A.

you will have to use "External Data Source" on the Pivot table wizard step 1

That's what I tried too...Its getting into Microsoft Query and giving me the above mentioned error of not finding any data in the table format.
