Pivot tables and grouping of data

I'm trying to to get something like table1 to look like table2. So far I'm thinking Pivot tables would be required but something else as well. The problem I'm struggling with is how do I create different filters for different manufactureres, not just different models. And how do I get to filter the data by year and month seeing different manufacturers' trailers registration by month or year, or several months every year?
